No this is not usefull, but you can always start in the root directory when you edit the Properties. In the "Program" tab you can edit the working directory (mine is "c:\").

This fits in the consistent structure of using an external window/program, like Alt-X, Alt-V.
I like the use of TFC, but when you know other nice compare programs, why not have both options.
Can give us examples of your favorites ? Binary compare maybe ?

Use Ctrl-Backspace instead.

Let's hope Kim finds the time to correct the file test routine described in that message(s).

Good point.
I think of one exception/addition described earlier (I can't remember where): When using split window mode the first option needs to be the "current" file in the opposit window. Current is meant here as the filename from the last used position of the cursorbar in that opposit window.
