Small bugs in ZTW146d   [Bug]

Hi,

Here are some new small bugs I found in ZTW146d:

  • 1. When you want to delete a file from a write-protected-disk you

    will

get a error message "Error: [05] Access Denied"

Why will I not get the same Error-Window when I want to copy to a

    protected disk.

  • 2. When I want to move a file from a protected disk, to an

    >empty<

directory I will get the message "File exists, replace?"

  • 3. When you try to set a date/time-stamp on a file on a

write-protected disk it seems to work correctly, an you'll be happy

    until you relog the directory.

  • 4. When you try to copy a file to a directory where this file is

already existing but "hidden" or "system" attributes on, then the

cycling dash (process-indicator) won't stop cycling, though the

    error-messages already appears.

  • 5. The menu "DIR COMMANDS/Print/Catalog of tagged files"

    will not work

similar to XTreeGold. It will be the same as the command: "CTRL FILE

    COMMAND/Print"

  • 6. When printing into "TEMPFILE", this file will be

    created in the

root- directory, but it will not logged automatically.

You have to relog the disk, to get access to "TEMPFILE" in ZTreeWin

  • 7. If you want to compress to a zip-file, the files should be

    resorted

by filename before the programm creates the filelist. If this will not

be done, the filelist you received from the archiv will have the same

order as it was at the moment of compressing. If you want to compare

two archives by using their filelists comparing with TFC you will have

no luck, if the archives were compressed with a different

    sort-criteria active.

  • And now I have a idea of a new feature:

I often need a filelist which will contain a checksum for each file.

In former days, without LFN's I normally used the tool "xdir.exe"

    supplied with DR-DOS 6.0:

"XDIR C:\*.* /C/S > FILE" will create a filelist of the whole disk.

To create a checksum guarantees that each file must be read from disk,

so you are sure you will know if there are sector-damages.

And comparing this filelist will show you, if a file changed without

    changing the time/date stamp.

I think an option "CRC" in the corrected menu (see item #5):

    "DIR COMMANDS/Print/Catalog of tagged files"

    will be the best place.

The greatest comfort of course, would be, if you are able to assemble

    the output-format as you like:

Example: There are the following menu-items:

    Attributes: 1 Size: 18 Date: 21 Time: 31 CRC: 42 Path/File: 48

This will output someting like this:

    --a--- 0 10.03.99 03:01:00 0000 "C:\Private\Computer\Public\X"

    --a--- 2,227 07.03.99 12:00:02 1A8D "C:\Computer\Text Files\eMails"

    Attributes: 0 Size: 0 Date: 1 Time: 11 CRC: 0 Path/File: 22

This will output someting like this:

    10.03.99 03:01:00 "C:\Private\Computer\Public\X"

    07.03.99 12:00:02 "C:\Computer\Text Files\eMails"

This is just a quick idea, I'm dreaming a little bit ....

    Kai
