Thanks, everyone. I'll have to play with the menu, and read through the docs again.
Paul's Alt-X suggestion works perfectly, first time out.
Regarding the F9 Application Menu,
I tried adding 3 separate items with descriptions below them, each with the full path of the app without a %1 sign, just to simplify it.
But none of the apps will execute. F9, then point to the item, then Enter or Alt-X does nothing. The apps don't even appear for a second.
I think this is just a matter of reading through the Application Menu section again, with the menu in one monitor and the ZTrewwin PDF in the other.
