At ftp://ftp.elf.stuba.sk/pub/pc/pack/ you could find already the following Install Shield v5/6 cab utilities.

i5comp21.rar - I5comp v2.01 - Install Shield Cabinet Files Maintenance Util
i6comp02.zip - I6Comp v0.20 - Install Shield v6.x CAB util

Now I discovered a new version of this tool in the depths of the internet:

i6cmp13b.zip - I6Comp v1.03b - Install Shield v6.x CAB util

Kindly note that this one does NOT replace the earlier v0.20 but it uses a different method to do it's work.

Both v0.20 and the new v1.03b are basing on the original source code of I5comp v2.01 but they went different ways during their further development.

i5comp v2.01  - (for IS 5) did require a separate .dll file
i6comp v0.20  - (for IS 6) is basing on the old but enhanced code, but
                does not any more need this .dll file
i6comp v1.03b - (for IS 6.x) is also basing on the old but enhanced code,
                but it still requires the .dll file

This latest version (1.03b) was released on Jan. 11, 2002, and I packed it in the archive i6cmp13b.zip. It includes bug fixes to prevent some general exceptions and is said to work now without errors on Install Shield 6.3 .cab files.

Recently I contacted the host master of ftp://ftp.elf.stuba.sk/pub/pc/pack/ to introduce this new version and asking him to kindly add it to his collection. Meanwhile he followed my request and now everyone can grab it from the known site.
